1. Acceptance & Scope
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") governs the relationship between Sol Power Midwest™ ("we," "us," "our") and you, a user or member ("you," "your," "Member") of the Equity Eligible Contractors™ membership website, including all associated software, systems, proprietary templates, resources, tools, and intellectual property (collectively, the "Service").
By registering for, accessing, or using the Service, you signify your acceptance of this Policy and our Terms of Service. If you do not agree to all terms, you must immediately cease using the Service and exit the website. This Policy is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service.
This Policy applies to all information collected through the Service, including our family of trademarks such as Sol Power Midwest™ Clean Energy Training Programs™, Investment Grade Business Process™, Equity Eligible Contractors Coalition™, and the Sol Power Midwest™ EquiESCO Clean Jobs System™.
2. Information We Collect: A Comprehensive Framework
We collect information that identifies, relates to, describes, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or household.
A. Personal Data: Data that can be used to identify you.
Identity & Contact Data: Name, postal address, email address, telephone number.
Business & Professional Data: Company name, job title, contractor license numbers, business tax ID, proof of insurance, and other credentials required for membership verification.
Account & Profile Data: Username, password, security questions/answers, and details for any Authorized Users you designate.
Financial & Transactional Data: Billing address, payment history, and payment card information. Note: We use third-party payment processors; we do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
Communications Data: Records of your correspondence with us, including support requests and feedback.
B. Client Information: As defined in our Terms of Service, this includes all data, content, and materials you or your Authorized Users submit, upload, store, or send to or through the Service. This is your confidential information, and our use is governed by our Terms of Service.
C. Technical & Usage Data: Data collected automatically.
Device & Network Data: Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, time zone setting, browser plug-in types, operating system and platform.
Usage Data: Information about your use of the Service, including the pages you visit, time spent on pages, clickstream data, and other diagnostic data.
Location Data: General geographic location derived from your IP address.
D. Tracking Technologies & Cookies:
We use Cookies and similar tracking technologies (e.g., web beacons, pixels) to monitor Service activity and hold certain information. We classify our cookies as follows:

We process your Personal Data to register you as a member, provide the Service, and process your payments. This processing is necessary for the performance of our contract with you. To manage our ongoing relationship, which includes sending you service-related updates and providing customer support, we process your data based on both contractual performance and our legitimate interests in maintaining and improving our service. We also process information based on our legitimate interests to administer and protect our business and the Service, which includes activities such as troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, system maintenance, and ensuring the security of our network and data.
Furthermore, we use fully anonymized and aggregated data for industry analysis and business intelligence, which serves our legitimate interest in improving our services and developing new products. To enforce our Terms of Service, protect our intellectual property, and defend against legal claims, we process data based on our legitimate interests in protecting our business and rights, as well as to comply with our legal obligations. We may identify you or your company as a member for promotional purposes, such as in a member directory, based on our legitimate interest in promoting the coalition and its members; however, this is always subject to your right to opt-out. Finally, we will only send you direct marketing communications where you have provided your explicit consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not and will not sell your Personal Data. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
Service Providers: With trusted third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf (e.g., hosting, payment processing, analytics, customer support, email delivery) under strict data processing agreements.
Professional Advisors: With our lawyers, auditors, and insurers as necessary in the provision of their services to us.
Legal Obligations & Rights: Where required by law, subpoena, or other legal process; to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users or others; to investigate fraud or security breaches; or to enforce our agreements.

Aggregated Data: We may share Aggregated Data (which is fully anonymized and cannot be used to identify you) with partners, researchers, or the public for any purpose.

We will ensure all such transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards as required by law, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK's International Data Transfer Agreement.
By using the Service, you consent to the transfer, storage, and processing of your information in the United States and other jurisdictions as necessary.
6. Data Security: Our Commitment

7. Data Retention: How Long We Keep Your Data
We will retain your Personal Data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (e.g., tax, accounting, or legal obligations).
Upon termination of your membership, we will initiate a process to delete or anonymize your Personal Data, typically within 90 days, unless we are legally required to retain it. Client Information may be destroyed or rendered inaccessible as specified in our Terms of Service. Aggregated Data may be retained indefinitely.
8. Your Data Protection Rights

-Right of Access & Portability: You can request a copy of your Personal Data in a structured, machine-readable format.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or data handling of any third-party websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of every site you visit.
11. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children. If we learn we have collected such data, we will delete it immediately. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in our practices or the law. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Policy on this page, updating the "Last Updated" date, and, where required by law, sending you a direct notification. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the revised Policy constitutes your acceptance of the terms.
